Per Real Property Tax Law Section 501, the attached NOTICE needs to be published two times in the Newspaper after March 1st, but before April 1st.
The requirements of Section 501 are as follows:
- The Assessor must publish a notice stating that assessment inventory and valuation data is available for review by the taxpayers.
- The notice must also state that an appointment may be made to review this information during certain hours to be determined by the Assessor.
- The notice must be published AT LEAST ONCE in each of TWO consecutive weeks, after March 1st (suggested 1st and 2nd week in March) but prior to April 1st, in a newspaper having general local circulation.
- In addition, the Assessor must post the notice on the signboard at the entrance of the Town Clerk’s Office.
The purpose of this notification is to advise property owners that the data upon which their assessments are to be determined is available for inspection. Inspection of the assessment records may result in the discovery and correction of errors prior to the completion and filing of tentative assessment rolls.

EXAMINATION OF ASSESSMENT INVENTORY
AND VALUATION DATA

Notice is hereby given that assessment inventory and valuation data is available. For examination and review. This data is the information that will be used to establish the assessment of each parcel, which will appear on the Tentative Assessment Roll for the Town of Red Hook which will be filed on or before May 1, 2023.
The information may be reviewed by appointment only in the Assessor’s office located at 7340 South Broadway, Red Hook, NY 12571. An appointment may be made to review the assessment information by telephoning the Assessor’s office at 845-758-4604 or email Assessor@redhookny.gov.
