NYSERDA Community Distributed Generation Program
The Town of Red Hook (hereinafter the “Town”), in conjunction with the Village of Red Hook (the “Village”) in Dutchess County, New York seeks to identify a qualified project sponsor to develop a 1.73 MW (AC) solar photovoltaic project that will qualify for the NYSERDA Community Distributed Generation (also known as “Shared Renewables”) Program.
The “Project Sponsor” will be responsible for all aspects of developing and managing this project over the next 20 or so years with the option for the Town to acquire the solar energy system for Fair Market Value (“FMV”) on the 6th, 8th or 10th anniversary. It is proposed that the Village of Red Hook would make available for lease an approximately 7 acre portion of an 18 acre parcel occupied by the Village’s well site for the development of the solar photovoltaic system. Purchase power agreements must be structured to provide financial savings to the participating municipalities compared to their energy costs absent such a contract, and must include provisions rendering the agreement subject to the appropriation of funds and requiring the payment of prevailing wages under the New York State Labor Law.
